Turn a vlog into Shorts

A vlog mixes talking-to-camera moments and atmosphere shots. The first often make great Shorts; the second need a bit more care.

Which vlog moments make good Shorts?

Moments where you tell the camera something: a discovery, a disaster, an honest opinion, a practical tip. They have words, emotion and often a punchline.

Clipotte's AI picks from the transcript, with a score out of 99 per clip. It's good at finding those spoken moments.

What about atmosphere shots with no talking?

They're harder to spot automatically: a stunning sunset or a funny silent scene doesn't show up in text. That's the limit of picking by speech, explained in how AI picks the moments.

If a visual moment matters to you, narrow the processed range around it or edit it separately. Clipotte doesn't edit speechless footage or add automatic B-roll.

Does the reframe follow a moving camera?

Yes, the reframe follows the main face shot by shot and cuts cleanly on shot changes. A handheld vlog with your face already centred usually reframes very well.

For wide shots where everything matters (a landscape, a street), the whole video on a blurred background avoids cropping the point.

Should I blur passers-by?

It's wise whenever strangers are recognisable. The blur option (+€3) detects and tracks faces and licence plates one by one, in several styles (smooth, pixel, frosted, emoji).

Detection isn't foolproof: a profile or very small face can slip through. Check every track in the editor before posting.

How should I post a vlog's Shorts?

Post them on YouTube linked to the full vlog, and reuse them on TikTok and Instagram. The suggested title, description and hashtags copy in one tap.

The general approach is in a YouTube video into Shorts, and choosing length in the ideal length of a short.

Frequently asked questions

How much for a 20-minute vlog?

€4.90 up to 30 minutes, plus €2 for animated captions and €3 for blur if you need it.

Does Clipotte add music?

No, it keeps your video's sound. If you want music, add it in the posting app, with a suitable licence.

Do phone-shot videos work?

Yes, if they're MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM or AVI. An already vertical video doesn't need reframing, but Clipotte still cuts it into clips.

Will captions spoil my nice shots?

You can pick a discreet style, or skip the captions option for that video.
