How do I get the file of my YouTube video?
Clipotte works from the video file, not a link. For a video on your channel, YouTube Studio lets you download the file from your content list (the video's options menu).
If you still have the exported edit, even better: it is usually higher quality than YouTube's re-encoded copy. Only use videos you hold the rights to; see reposting a YouTube video on TikTok.
How does Clipotte pick the moments?
It transcribes the whole video, then suggests the strongest passages with a score out of 99 broken down into hook, flow, value and trend. Keep the ones you like and fine-tune the cuts in the editor, word by word.
If the selection misses, you get one free regeneration with a brief, for example “keep the practical tips”.
What format does a Short need?
A Short is vertical: Clipotte reframes to 9:16 and exports in 1080p. Reframing follows the main face; for a wide shot where everything matters, you can pick the whole video on a blurred background.
YouTube's maximum Shorts length has changed before: check the current limit in YouTube Help before posting, and read the ideal length of a short to choose your clip length setting.
How much does it cost?
Clipotte is paid per video, based on the length processed: €4.90 up to 30 minutes, €7.90 up to 1 hour, €12.90 up to 2 hours, €16.90 up to 3 hours. Options: animated captions +€2, face and licence plate blur +€3, hook titles +€1.
Example: a 25-minute video with animated captions comes to €6.90; a 50-minute video with captions and hook titles to €10.90. How long does processing take?
It depends on your video's length and options. You can close the page: your clips will wait for you in “My videos”.
Can I fix the captions?
Yes, in the transcript editor: fix the text, delete words to cut, switch style in one click.
Do I need an account?
No. You can upload, pay and download as a guest, then create an account later to find your videos again.
Do you keep my videos?
The source video is deleted 30 days after upload, clips 90 days after they're made. Download them before then.
