Cut a YouTube livestream into clips
A YouTube livestream often runs two or three hours, and only a few minutes stick. Clipotte finds those minutes and turns them into Shorts, without you rewatching the whole stream.
How do I get the file of a YouTube livestream?
Once the stream ends, it shows up in your YouTube Studio content, where you can usually download the file. If you also recorded locally with your streaming software, that file works too, and it's often better quality.
Clipotte doesn't import by link: it needs the file (MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM or AVI, up to 4 GB).
My stream is longer than 3 hours, what now?
Clipotte processes up to 3 hours per video. For a longer stream, split it into two files with any cutting tool, then upload each part.
Often it's smarter to keep only the useful range: the waiting screen, breaks and sign-off rarely make clips.
What does Clipotte keep from a stream?
Passages that make sense on their own: an answer to a chat question, an explanation, a reaction, a story. Each clip gets a score out of 99 and a suggested title.

What about moments with no talking?
The AI picks from the transcript, so a purely visual highlight (a gameplay play, a silent demo) can slip through. For gaming streams, read gaming clips.
In that case, jot down timestamps during the stream and narrow the processed range around those moments.
How much for a 2- or 3-hour stream?

Will the live chat appear in the clips?
Only if it was overlaid on the stream image. Clipotte works on the video as recorded.
How many clips from a 3-hour stream?
Clipotte aims for up to 15, ranked by score, and fewer if the material is weak. Keep the ones you like.
Can I post clips while the VOD is still up?
Yes, the clips are standalone videos. Linking a Short to the full stream helps viewers find the long version.
Does a long stream take a while to process?
Yes, longer videos take longer. You can close the page: clips will be waiting in “My videos”.
