Gaming clips for TikTok and Shorts
Gaming clips do well in short form, but a tool that picks moments from speech has strengths and blind spots. Here's how to get the best from it.
Can Clipotte find a match's best moments?
Yes, if you commentate: the AI picks from the transcript, so it finds moments where you react, explain or tell a story. A big reaction (“no way!”) stands out well.
A spectacular play in silence, though, doesn't appear in the text and can slip through. Selection rules are in how AI picks the moments.
How do I frame a gaming clip vertically?
You have two options. Full frame follows the main face: with a small webcam in a corner, it will mostly zoom on you. The whole video on a blurred background keeps the entire game screen, smaller, in the middle.
For games where the action matters, the whole video is often best; for a reaction moment, full frame on your webcam works. Switch layout clip by clip in the editor.
How can I help the AI find the right moments?
A few habits make the selection much better:
- commentate out loud, even briefly;
- note timestamps of big moments while playing and narrow the processed range around them;
- use the brief: “big reactions” or “strategy explanations”;
- keep the free regeneration for a second pass if the first misses the point.
What about rights to game footage?
Each publisher has its own policy on videos of its games; most allow it, with conditions. Check your game's policy, especially for commercial use.
In-game music can also cause trouble on some platforms. More in reposting a video on other platforms.
What does a gaming session cost?
Clipotte is paid per video, based on the length processed: €4.90 up to 30 minutes, €7.90 up to 1 hour, €12.90 up to 2 hours, €16.90 up to 3 hours. Options: animated captions +€2, face and licence plate blur +€3, hook titles +€1.
For a full stream, see a Twitch stream into TikToks; for the expected format, the TikTok video format.

Are captions useful on a gaming clip?
Yes for your commentary, since many people watch muted. Pick a style that doesn't cover the game's HUD.
Does Clipotte detect kills or goals?
No, it doesn't recognise in-game events from the picture. It picks from what is said.
My video is 60 fps, is that a problem?
No, as long as the file is MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM or AVI, up to 3 hours and 4 GB.
Is there a watermark?
No, clips export in 1080p with no watermark.
