Online birthday invitations: one card, one link, every RSVP in one place
An online birthday invitation is a nice card and a link. Guests open it on their phone, reply in one tap, and you see who's coming in real time.
What is an online birthday invitation?
It's a web page that shows your party (date, venue, message, photo) and lets each guest reply yes, no or maybe. You send it as a link, and replies show up in your dashboard.
The difference from an image dropped in a group chat is tracking. With an image, replies get lost between messages and thumbs-up emojis. With a link, each reply sits next to the guest's name, with their plus-ones and answers to your questions.
How do you create your birthday invitation in a few minutes?
Pick a theme, write a title and a message, add the date, time and venue, then publish. The link is ready to share straight away, and you can edit the card later without changing the link.
The slowest part is usually the wording. Start from a milestone template: 18th, 30th, 40th or 50th, each with wording ready to copy. The full walkthrough is in how to create an online invitation.
- Title: "Emma's 30th", "James turns 40!"
- Message: two or three sentences that set the tone
- Date and start time (and end time if you like)
- Venue and address: guests get a directions button
- Dress code if it matters, a photo, a colour, an emoji
What can you ask your guests?
On top of yes, no or maybe, you can allow plus-ones with a maximum per guest, and ask custom questions. One question is included free, five with Invitotte+, ten with Big event.
Questions can be free text ("Any allergies?") or multiple choice ("Staying over: yes, no, maybe"). Add an RSVP deadline: guests see it, and replies close once it has passed.
How do you send a birthday invitation?
As a link, wherever your guests already talk: WhatsApp, text message, Messenger, email. In your dashboard, the WhatsApp or SMS button opens your phone with the message ready; you send it from your own number.
You can keep the link open (anyone with it can reply) or limit it to your list, with a personal link for each guest. All the options are in sending an invitation on WhatsApp.
How much does an online birthday invitation cost?
On Invitotte it's free for up to 10 guests, with a small "Made with Invitotte" badge. Beyond that, Invitotte+ is €9.90 once for the event, up to 150 guests, with no subscription and no ads for your guests.
| Plan | Price | Guests | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | up to 10 | 5 themes, 1 question, 100-photo album |
| Invitotte+ | €9.90 once | up to 150 | 12 themes, 5 questions, export, no badge |
| Big event | €29.90 once | up to 500 | 10 questions, your logo, 3,000-photo album |
What happens after the party?
Turn on the shared photo album: everyone uploads their photos from their phone and anyone can download them all. The album opens two hours before the party and is permanently erased three days after.
It's all explained in the shared party photo album.
Frequently asked questions
Do guests have to install an app?
No. The link opens in the phone's browser, and replying takes one tap with no account.
Can I change the time after sending the invitation?
Yes. Edit the card, and everyone who opens the link sees the new version. The link itself never changes.
Can the invitation be in French for friends from France?
Yes, each invitation is in English or French: the card and the reply page then use that language.
Can guests see who else is coming?
Only if you choose: the guest list can be shown or hidden. Detailed replies are visible to you only.
