Kids' party invitations online: no more paper slips in book bags

Paper invitations handed out at school go missing, and replies come back through three different channels. An online invitation goes straight to parents, who reply in one tap with the details you need.

Why send a kids' party invitation online?

Because parents do the replying, and they live on their phones. A link reaches them directly, they reply in one tap, and you find all the replies in one place.

You also avoid invitations forgotten at the bottom of a school bag, and replies scattered across texts, voice notes and the school gate.

What do parents want to know?

The pick-up time, the exact address, and anything about their child's safety. Start time is on every invitation; pick-up time is the one people forget.

  • Date, drop-off and pick-up times
  • Exact address and entry code
  • Theme, fancy dress, outdoor clothes if needed
  • A question about allergies
  • Who's collecting the child
  • A number to reach on the day

Which questions should you ask parents?

Start with allergies: it's the one that matters most. The free plan gives you one question; Invitotte+ gives five, so you can add pick-up details or photo consent.

Multiple choice is faster than free text: "Who's collecting? Mum, Dad, someone else". Answers show next to each child's name.

Should you use the class WhatsApp group?

Only if you're inviting the whole class. Otherwise, send the link privately to each parent: it's kinder to the kids who aren't invited.

To control who can reply, limit the link to your list: each parent gets a personal link, and someone with only the general link can see the card but not reply. More in sending an invitation on WhatsApp.

Which theme should you pick?

Whatever your child loves right now. Each theme has its own page with wording to copy: unicorn, dinosaur, pirate or sleepover.

You can also set an emoji, a colour and a photo: a photo of the birthday child in costume always goes down well.

Not sure yet? Look at what your child is drawing, playing or watching this month. The theme only has to make one child happy: the birthday one.

How much does it cost for a whole class?

It's free for up to 10 guests, enough for a small group of friends. For a whole class, Invitotte+ is €9.90 once for the event, up to 150 guests, without the small Invitotte badge.

No subscription, and no ads for the parents who open the invitation.

How do you handle siblings and parents who stay?

With plus-ones and a question. If a parent or a younger sibling is welcome, allow one plus-one per guest; if not, set the maximum to zero so each link counts one child.

With toddlers, many parents stay for the party. A multiple-choice question ("Are you staying for the party? Yes, no") tells you how many coffees to make. Say what's planned in the message too: "siblings welcome" or "party for the class only". A clear rule stated on the invitation avoids awkward moments at the door, and nobody has to ask.

Frequently asked questions

Do parents need an account?

No. They open the link and reply in one tap, from any phone.

Can a parent change their reply?

Yes, with the same link, until the RSVP deadline if you've set one.

Can I share party photos with parents?

Yes, with the shared photo album: parents get the photos of their child, and the album erases itself three days after the party.

Where can I find wording?

In kids' birthday invitation wording, sorted by age.
