Is a virality score reliable?

One clip scores 92, another 64: the number is reassuring, but what is it worth? Honest answer: it is a sorting aid, not a view forecast.

What does a virality score measure?

It measures how well a passage follows the rules of a good short clip, according to an AI model. In Clipotte, it combines four ratings, hook, flow, value and trend, into a score out of 99.

It doesn't use your analytics, the platform's data or the TikTok or YouTube algorithm, none of which outside tools can access. That's true of any AI clip generator, not just Clipotte.

Does a high score guarantee views?

No. Views depend on things no score can see: your audience, posting time, what else is trending that day, the cover, the sound, the first reactions.

A clip scored 70 can easily beat one scored 90. Be wary of any tool that presents its score as a probability of success.

So what is the score for?

It helps you sort quickly when you have ten or fifteen clips to review. Starting with the highest scores often gets you to the best moments sooner.

The breakdown is the most useful part. A clip with high value but a weak hook often just needs its first sentence trimmed in the editor, or a hook title.

How do I read the four criteria?

Each criterion answers a simple question:

CriterionThe questionIf it scores low
HookDo the first seconds grab you?Trim the intro, start on the strong line
FlowDoes it stand alone, with a clean start and end?Adjust the edges in the editor
ValueIs there an insight, a punchline, an emotion? It may just be weak: drop it
TrendDoes the topic travel well in short form?Fine for a niche audience

How do I find out what really works?

Post, then check each platform's analytics: average watch time, how many people watch to the end, subscribers gained. Those are the only numbers that matter for your channel.

Note which kinds of moments land with your audience (tips, stories, debates) and use them as a brief for your next videos.

Frequently asked questions

Why out of 99 and not 100?

It's a display choice: no clip is perfect, and the score is an estimate, not an absolute grade.

Are scores from two tools comparable?

No. Each tool has its own criteria and maths; an 85 in one doesn't mean the same as an 85 in another.

Should I bin low-scoring clips?

Not necessarily. A very niche clip may score low on “trend” and be perfect for your audience. Watch it before deciding.

Does the score change if I edit the clip?

No, it rates the passage as the AI picked it. It's for the first sort, not for grading your edits.
